Education

Everyone should have access to high-quality educational opportunities and experiences. We provide educational services to young children, support youth and emerging adults in pursuing educational opportunities and help adults get an education that can fuel their careers. Norwescap is committed to supporting educational endeavors from birth through adulthood and beyond.

Early Childhood Education

Norwescap offers resources and payment assistance through our Child and Family Resource Services program to help families secure high-quality childcare that works for the entire family. Research shows that these investments in the early days pay dividends over a lifetime. We provide comprehensive, free childcare and family support programs called Early Head Start (0 to 3 year olds) and Head Start (4 and 5-year-olds). For families who are distant to one of our many locations, we offer resources and payment assistance through our Child and Family Resource Services program to help them secure high-quality childcare that works for the entire family.

Not only do we provide services to families needing education for their young children, but we also lead several strategies to improve community conditions. Our Child and Family Resource Services team provide quality regulation and training to childcare providers, ensuring that locations, where families send their kids each day, are safe and healthy places. Our County Councils for Young Children bring parents together to discuss issues that matter to them and their children, influencing community change.

Youth and Emerging Adult Education

The future of our community sits with the success of our youth and emerging young adults. For our children, youth and emerging adults we have created an all-encompassing approach to support them in pursuing their education goal. In Sussex County, our Compadres program provides a range of services to school-age kids including social-emotional learning, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) opportunities, and educational supports. Traditions Family Success Center works with local organizations and partners to build teen leadership. Led by community college students, the Degree Up initiative provides critical mentoring and support to low-income and first-generation students and is based on mentorship. The program grants access to the latest technology from tablets to computers to fuel their education and long-term academic success.

Adult Education

Adult personal enrichment classes and continuing education give the community opportunities for lifelong learning and continued pursuit of their educational goals well beyond youth. Our programs offer a diverse selection of classes geared toward academic and career success.

For women who are re-entering the workforce, our Career & Life Transitions Center provides training & education, emotional support, and educational scholarships. Individuals can also receive small loans to pay for educational expenses via our Family

Loan program.

Norwescap works to accomplish this mission through a comprehensive array of strategies, programs and services that
