ARRA Stimulus Funding
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) provides funding during the current economic crisis to save and create jobs. The ARRA funding also calls for increased transparency and accountability to taxpayers. At NORWESCAP accountability and transparency has always been the cornerstone of our service delivery model, providing services to over 35,000 low income individuals a year with an administrative cost of less than five cents. NORWESCAP is pleased to report that we have received funding under the ARRA to expand services and provide new services to our community.
NORWESCAP designated part of the ARRA funding to provide a medical certification class.
ARRA Medical Certification
ARRA funding has been designated to outreach to individuals that are displaced or laid off and seeking to obtain a job in the medical field. Medical jobs and careers in the healthcare field have demonstrated a demand despite economic downturns.
The Medical Certification class is a medical billing program that provides a hands-on training class in a small group setting. The class will be held in Washington, New Jersey at the Career and Life Transitions computer training lab.

Level of Service
It is anticipated that the program will provide medical certification training to 8 individuals.
