Featured program of the month – WIC“The WIC Program has been a great help. They have helped me with breastfeeding my two children. They made me understand that breastfeeding has lots of benefits, because breast milk has important nutrients and vitamins that help baby grow. WICalso helps me to be healthy. I was given the maximum WIC package for exclusively breastfeeding moms, which includes more nutritious foods. I recommend that all moms exclusively breastfeed their babies. Mars Chocolate Comes to TownOn Thursday, July 5th three NORWESCAP locations in Phillipsburg hosted 35 college interns from Mars Chocolate of North America (MCNA) for a day long Intern Volunteer Day. Every year MCNA recruits summer interns from around the country to come to Hackettstown to learn about the various parts of the corporate environment at the world headquarters and the place where M&M candies are made. These interns work in areas such as marketing, finance, engineering and food service. But on this day they volunteered at NORWESCAP’s Food Bank and Head Start locations. Working parents rely on child care to work to support their families and more importantly, to ensure that their children are well-cared for. NORWESCAP Child & Family Resource Services (CFRS) is the local child care resource and referral agency for Sussex, Warren, and Hunterdon Counties. Sussex Head Start spotlights Mitch MorrisonMitch Morrison of Sparta, NJ has always been interested and advocated for the GREEN movement. He is highly involved in the Sustainable New Jersey Program and was one of the founding fathers of the recent opening of the Sparta Farmer’s Market.
